A classic picnic spot, which happily avoids the sand in the sandwiches problem (there is a sandy beach next to the pebble beach, if you're a traditionalist).

Leave your car in one of the towns big car parks, and head down to the Marine Parade to pick your spot on the beach and enjoy the sea air.
